Usher slowly slips from the No. 1 spot after topping the charts last week with the second highest debut album of the year - just behind Mariah Carey's E=MC2. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Usher's sixth studio album Here I Stand, comes in at No. 3 this week. Usher's album only reached Gold bringing in 589,000 copies in the first 2 weeks. His first two video singles he released so far have been "Love In This Club" featuring Young Jeezy and "Moving Mountains"
Ashanti debuts at No. 6 with 87,000 units sold. The Declaration was released via Universal Motown and sold far less than her 2004 release Concrete Rose, which entered the charts at No. 7 with 254,000 copies sold. This is Ashanti's first project where she has not received direction from Irv Gotti. Production features include Bryan Michael-Cox, Babyface, Jermaine Dupri and Polow Da Don. Appearances are made by boyfriend Nelly, Akon and Robin Thicke
Teeny bopper hearthrob, Chris Brown's re-issue of his sophomore LP Exclusive enters the charts at No. 10. A great comeback after being in the No. 56 spot. Sales massively increased by 261%. After 31 weeks, total sales are 1,582,000. Is Chris Brown the new prince of R&B???
After eight weeks, superstar Mariah Carey bows down from the top 10 and falls back to the No. 13 spot. The newlywed songstress is just shy of earning another platinum plaque. Of course she'll make it. Her current sales are at 998,000 copies.
Foxy Brown's rumored beau, Rick Ross continues to drop down the charts 14 spots to No. 39. The "Boss", after 13 weeks has sold only 564,000 copies.
